COUNTRY MEADOWS
This is a previous residence of mine. It is my mother's trailer located in the Country Meadows development in Labelle, Florida.
It may not necessarily be the trailer itself that is haunted, but perhaps the land around it. My mother purchased it new in 1991, so it had no pre-existing history. At night you can hear the whispering of voices coming from the far end of the trailer towards the main bedroom (my mother's room). The voices would be so loud at times that I would think that her telephone answering machine had gone off so I would go check and find nothing. The whispering would stop. After returning to my own room the whispering voices would return. My mother, brother, wife and even my best friend Shawn who was staying with us at the time has heard them.
After time we became accustomed to the voices, but those were not the only experiences that took place here.
Of all nights, Halloween night 1994, while Dorshia, Dan, and I were in the living room watching television, my mother was asleep in her bedroom . A bright, blue light resembling a camera flash or lightning filled my mother's bedroom while she was asleep. It could have very well been ball lightning; whatever it was, we immediately woke her up and told her what had happened. The surrounding area above my mother's bed had a cold chill. In hopes of possibly catching something on film I had my mother snap a couple of pictures.
Another instance, according to my mother and Shawn, happened during one of the Christmas seasons. We had a small Christmas tree sitting atop of our television. While Shawn and my mother were talking in front of the tree, one of the decorations from the tree "flew" from one of the branches and fell in between the both of them.
Yet. one of the most unique experiences that tends to prove that the occurrences here were "intelligent" happened during the day one afternoon. In my bedroom on the opposite end of the trailer from my mother's, Shawn and I were playing video games on Nintendo. I was lying on the bed with my head next to the window. Whatever it was seemed to be "teasing" with me. I heard three "pecks" on the window as though someone was outside tapping there fingernails on the window. I pulled the curtain back to take a look at who it was, but nobody was there. At this point I shrugged it off and continued playing my game. About a minute later, the same tapping on the window occurred. Again, I pulled back the curtain to look but nobody appeared. This time I was really puzzled. As soon as I put the curtain back down the tapping happened again. I immediately jerked the curtains back to catch whoever it was "playing" around, but no one was there.......at the same instant something went underneath the trailer starting from my bedroom window and hit every metal beam on the underside of the trailer to my mothers end of the trailer with extreme force. So hard you could feel the vibration. This happened in a manner of seconds. This could not have been an animal or person - we had skirting around the trailer - nothing that large could get through the skirting. Also, if it had, a person or animal would have been knocked out cold the first metal beam it hit. Shawn and I quickly ran to opposite doors at the front and back of the trailer in hopes of catching a glimpse at what was causing the commotion, but nothing ever showed itself. We did not see anything.
One more noteworthy occurrence happened one evening after my mother had thrown out a Ouija board I used to have. She nor I had given any second thought about what she had done.
I had went to work that evening, so my mother was home alone. According to her she was in her room and she kept hearing noises coming from the opposite end of the trailer (my room). Nervously, she went to make sure nobody was in the trailer. Once convinced she was alone she returned to her room. A few moments later she heard a "crash" in the kitchen which was right next to her bedroom. She ran out to find Tupperware on the kitchen floor which had been knocked off the counter. At this point my mother was really nervous, she returned to her room debating whether or not she should leave. Something else fell in the kitchen. At this point she had decided it was time to get out. As she was packing some clothes to go stay over at a friends house, behind her in an open jewelry box were the sounds of invisible fingers browsing through her jewelry. She wasted no more time and left with what little she had packed. The next day, I had taken the Ouija board out of the garbage can and gave it to one of my mother's friends. It wasn't too long after this that my mother moved out. She still owns the trailer, but she has it rented. There have been a few renters since she moved out, but it is unknown if any of them have experienced any "disturbances".
